POLYLEPIS AUSTRALIS

Like a natural bonsai. Flaky cinnamon coloured bark on a mystical distorted tree only 3-4m at maturity. A relative of Alchemilla mollis. I have seen magical groves of this at very high altitude from Ecuador to Argentina. Hardy. . Bob's score = 10 RHS Hardiness Rating: H5 .

Cinnamon-barked small tree, myrtle-like shape, 3m. Alchemilla mollis relative. Seed collected 2900m altitude, highest point of Central Sierras, Argentina, herb-rich grassland. Probably a variety of P.australis.
